The Metropolitan Police have appealed for information following the savage and fatal stabbing of 16-year-old Drekwon Patterson in the increasingly dangerous capital.
The victim was rushed to hospital on Thursday night after suffering multiple stab wounds on Preston Road, Wembley, but tragically lost his life shortly before 9 AM.
Cops are now on the hunt for the perpetrator after a car was seen speeding away from the scene. The vehicle was then torched.
Chief Superintendent Sara Leach said: “It is another tragedy that a boy of just 16 years old has died as the result of a knife crime.
“My thoughts are with his family at this time and my officers, alongside homicide detectives, are doing everything they can to identify and arrest those responsible.”
Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard has appealed for information.
Leonard said: “In particular, I need to find out more information about a car, a black Ford Mondeo, using registration number YR54 NHN, which was seen on CCTV driving away from the scene and found burnt out in Silver Jubilee Park, NW9 on Friday 19 February”
The fatal stabbing is just the latest in a series of knife-related incidents to have taken place across Sadiq Khan’s London.
Cab driver Gabriel Bringye was stabbed in his vehicle in Tottenham Hale on Wednesday. Paramedics were unable to revive him.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with the callous murder of Bringye.
Earlier this month, one man was left dead and nine others injured after a weekend of knife-crime chaos in Croydon, South London.
The Croydon crime-spree was labelled by Detective Superintendent Nicola Arrowsmith as “needless and completely abhorrent.”
