WATCH | Stabbing in Hyde Park caught on camera as Khan’s London plummets to new depths of violence

Shocking footage has been captured of a stabbing in London’s Hyde Park.

In the clip, a woman can be heard screaming: “He got stabbed! There’s a knife, there’s a knife! Oh my God, oh s***, oh God oh God!”

At one point an attacker stands over the victim and lands another blow to the midriff.

“He bored him! Oh s*** he bored him!” shouts someone from the crowd – “bored” means stabbed in London street slang.

In another clip (see below) the assailants can be more clearly seen running around with their weapons, which witnesses described as “machetes” and “swords”.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Police were called at 21:00hrs on Tuesday 1 June to reports of an assault in Hyde Park.

“Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended. They found a male suffering from stab injuries.

Laurence Fox tweeted in capital letters: “Stop and search every single youth in London on a regular basis.”

Fellow mayor of London candidate Shaun Bailey posted: “We need to ensure that our parks are heavily policed as we emerge from lockdown.

Update: The victim has since been identified as being 17 years old. His injuries are reported to not be life threatening. As of midday, Thursday, no arrests have been made.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has finally made a statement. “The scenes of violence at Hyde Park last night were absolutely appalling,” said Khan.

“The police have my full support in apprehending those behind this cowardly attack which has left one teenager in hospital.”

Urging witnesses and people with information to speak to the police, he added: “There were lots of people in the park yesterday evening who saw the awful attack unfold.

“There is no honour in staying silent.”
