Former US President Donald Trump has spectacularly blasted his beleaguered successor Joe Biden in a damning missive that accuses the isolated Democrat leader of surrendering Afghanistan to terrorists, leaving American citizens for dead, and importing terrorists into the US.
It comes as Joe Biden continues to tumble in the polls as American voters express their disgust at his badly botched handling of the troop withdrawal from Afghanistan.
“Biden surrendered Afghanistan to terrorists and left thousands of Americans for dead by pulling out the Military before our citizens” fumed the populist icon.
“Now we are learning that out of the 26,000 people who have been evacuated, only 4,000 are Americans. You can be sure the Taliban, who are now in complete control, didn’t allow the best and brightest to board these evacuation flights.
“Instead, we can only imagine how many thousands of terrorists have been airlifted out of Afghanistan and into neighborhoods around the world. What a terrible failure. NO VETTING. How many terrorists will Joe Biden bring to America? We don’t know!”
Biden’s botched handling of the episode, which saw him wind down troop numbers and surrender territorial control to the Taliban before successfully evacuating his own citizens, has led to international consternation too – with this website reporting at the weekend how a top government source had referred to the President as “a bit doolally”.
Trump’s explosive comments follow shocking reports from France that Emmanuel Macron’s government had airlifted five known terror threats into Paris, prompting fury from nationalist firebrand Marine Le Pen, and reports from here in the UK that five individuals on our ‘no fly’ list of known security risks had attempted to use the crisis to enter Britain – with one man successfully making it to Birmingham, where authorities released him into the country claiming he is “not a person of interest”.
